Ladue Rallies to Knock off Fort Zumwalt North

O'FALLON. Mo. * The Ladue Rams didn't let a less-experienced group effect them down the stretch.

Their performance in the fourth quarter proved that.

After leading early, Ladue overcame a late deficit to claim a 24- 21 win over Fort Zumwalt North on Friday in the season opener for both teams.

"We have some young faces in a lot of places," Ladue coach Mike Tarpey said. "I'm really happy with our overall energy and how we played."

Fort Zumwalt North, the No. 8 team in the STLhighschoolsports.com large-school rankings and No. 5 team in the Class 5 Missouri Media Poll, took its first lead of the game when senior quarterback Cade Dister ran for a 5-yard score to give the Panthers a 21-18 lead with 6 minutes, 49 seconds to play.

Ladue, which was moved down to Class 4 this season, responded with a 9-yard touchdown run by Chino Davis with 2:55 left in the fourth quarter. …
