Chase: Motorcyclist Arrested after Topping 130 MPH

A motorcyclist who led the Kansas Highway Patrol on a chase at more than 130 mph was arrested Saturday after he stopped at a house and went in as troopers in a helicopter watched from above, a highway patrol supervisor said.

The man, who appeared to be in his 20s, was taken into custody without incident after the pursuit, which lasted about 10 minutes, said Highway Patrol Sgt. Mark Christesen. The man's name hadn't been released Saturday afternoon.

"It's very fortunate he didn't get in a crash, kill himself or kill somebody else," Christesen said.

He said the chase began at 12:50 p.m. in a construction zone on Interstate 70 west of the Kansas Turnpike's East Topeka interchange, where the rider was clocked going 95 mph in a 55 mph zone. …
