The winners, losers and numbers that made up the day in Rio:

Men's soccer

Brazil's trophy case is finally complete. The five-time World Cup champion won the only championship it was still missing Saturday, defeating Germany, 5-4, in a penalty shootout and winning a soccer gold medal for the first time. Neymar scored with a superb free kick in regulation and converted the decisive penalty in the shootout after Brazilian goalkeeper Weverton stopped Nils Petersen's shot.

Men's boxing

Cuba's Robeisy Ramirez won a split-decision victory over Shakur Stevenson in the bantamweight final, denying the United States its first men's gold medal in the sport since 2004.

Men's diving

China's Chen Aisen claimed the 10-meter platform title with 585.30 points, displaying the greatest consistency throughout the six-round contest. Three times he topped 100 points on his dives.

Women's cycling

Jenny Rissveds of Sweden won the gold medal in the mountain bike race. …
