USD 501 Lays out Plan to Bolster ACT Efforts

Topeka Unified School District 501 saw an increase in students taking the ACT last school year and is planning efforts to boost participation further this year.

Among 2016 seniors, 425 students took the ACT, rebounding from the previous year's five-year low of 403.

USD 501 communications director Misty Kruger said in an email Friday that principals recently held a college planning meeting with new superintendent Tiffany Anderson on college preparedness and hope to increase the number of students who take the ACT and help them achieve higher outcomes.

Kruger listed the following steps among their efforts:
