Entrepreneurial Program Added at Enid High School

ENID - A business and entrepreneurial education program is being offered at Enid High School.

The yearlong, elective program was designed to teach business skills, original thinking and personal values.

The program was developed by Youth Entrepreneurs, a national nonprofit organization.

"Through hands-on learning experiences, Youth Entrepreneurs introduces the concept of principled entrepreneurship, developing high school students into leaders and entrepreneurial thinkers," said Phoebe Bachura, the program's ventral region director.

Over the course of the year, students work with teachers and community business advisers to develop business plans that have the potential to become self-sustaining business concepts.

"The creativity in the business plans our students develop is incredible, but even more incredible is how the program instills the confidence they need to succeed in life," said Andrea Jurgensmeyer, a former volunteer for Youth Entrepreneurs who works at Koch Fertilizer. …
