* The Place: The Allegheny County Airport in West Mifflin Saturday night.

* The Purpose: The annual Dog Days of Summer benefit for the Pittsburgh Aviation Animal Rescue. PAART provides air and ground transportation into a safe environment for dogs in danger as a result of abuse or neglect.

* The Party: It was about planes and pets with several private jets on the tarmac for guests to explore, including American Eagle's corporate jet, the Rooney's jet and the Piper Saratoga used by PAART founders Jonathan Plesset and Brad Childs to rescue dogs and other animals. Since 2012 they have helped 4,000 animals. Artist Kate Schoeb painted a dog portrait during the party. The event featured food trucks, libations, a silent auction and live music by Two Turntables and a Saxophone with singer Tiffany Eckert. …
