POLICE are continuing their search for a dad who went missing from home more than a week ago.

Alan Shone - believed to be in the early stages of dementia - has not been seen or heard from since Monday, August 22.

The 61-year-old, who is known to many as 'Shoney', left his house on The Crescent in Irlam, Salford, at around 9.30am to pick up a prescription from his doctors.

Police think he caught the number 67 bus from Irlam to Eccles to collect a prescription but never returned home.

There were two potential sightings of Alan the day he went missing.

He was seen on the A57 heading towards Irlam on foot at about 11am. He was also spotted at 11.30am on Princes Avenue at the junction with Liverpool Road in Irlam. …
