The Living-Wage Movement Gets Much Coverage

While I completely agree with Christopher Stewart ("Workers Struggling," Aug. 24 letters) that "[f]or the working class, wages have remained stagnant" and that the cost of living keeps going up, I cannot agree that "never one word" is mentioned in the media "on helping the people who wake up early every day to earn a living."

Has Mr. Stewart never heard of the Fight for $15 movement to raise the minimum wage? I have seen this movement covered both on TV and in the newspapers. Raising the minimum wage to a family-sustaining level would be a huge improvement in the lives of struggling workers.

I wonder if Mr. Stewart supports that movement. Given his ranting about "lazy" people on welfare and about folks buying steaks with their Access cards, I suspect that he doesn't. I fear that his philosophy of life and his picture of the world are being shaped by the likes of Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity and Fox "News. …
