* Bottled water (3 gallons per family member)

* Flashlight

* Portable radio

* Extra batteries

* Fire extinguisher

* Essential medication

* First aid kit/first aid book

* Blankets

* Plywood to cover windows

* Canned foods

* Matches or a lighter

* Candles
