Wine Finds: French Grenache Blanc Blends

Grenache, or garnacha in Spanish, is one of the most widely planted red grape varietals in the world. In France's southern Rhne, for example, it's the dominant grape in the appellation of Chteauneuf-du-Pape, famous for its full-bodied, powerful reds. But another member of the grenache family, grenache blanc, is also widely found in southern France, where it's often blended with other grapes, including roussanne, marsanne and even trebbiano and vermentino, to deliver some interesting flavors and textures.
