Family in Grief after Stabbing Victim Dies ; Police Start Murder Inquiry after 'Loving and Caring' Family Man Knifed in Stomach

DETECTIVES have launched a murder investigation after a man died following a late-night stabbing in Harpurhey.

Steven Chadwick, 30, suffered stab wounds to his stomach following an attack on Carslake Road.

Police raced to the scene at 11.20pm last Monday after reports that a man had been knifed. Officers discovered Mr Chadwick with stab wounds. He was rushed to hospital and spent four days in a critical condition but he died on Friday.

A man has been charged with attempted murder in relation to the incident. He is due to appear in court next on September 29.

Mr Chadwick's devastated family have paid tribute to the 'loving and caring' family man.

They said: "Steven was a loving son, a caring brother and a fantastic uncle to his nieces, nephews and great niece. We will miss him with all our heart and he will never be forgotten by all that knew and loved him. …
