IT is unsurprising that failed Tory candidate Bob Goodall should lavish praise on his Tory chums (Council won't listen, Viewpoints, September 2).

But he should not be allowed to get away with posing as a neutral observer.

Nor should he get away with the outrageous claim that Salford's planning panel did not listen to objections to plans for 132 new homes in Boothstown, a small addition to the 4,000 making up the village.

Three community groups and members of the public were given the opportunity to voice their concerns and were given more than twice the amount of time normally allocated to objectors.

Ward councillors were given the opportunity to make arguments too.

Some members of the Panel agreed with the objectors. …
