VENICE -- City of Venice residents can report issues ranging from potholes and overgrown medians to dead animals and road debris directly from their smartphone by using a new App, SeeClickFix.

City spokeswoman Lorraine Anderson, who's been working with the New Haven, Connecticut-based company, said the hope is that residents will have a single point of contact, through either the app or a link on the city's website at www.venicegov.com, that will let them pinpoint where they see an issue and see the workflow as the city resolves the problem.

"With this, it's one-stop shopping and what's really neat is you don't have to wait until you get home," Anderson said. "You can go to the site and drop a pin in and you have an actual street address, which is extremely helpful."

With the app, it's possible to send the city a photo or video of the problem. …
