Just Pups Owner's Lawyers Get More Time

A judge has given the attorneys for Vincent LoSacco more time for discovery, as the case of the embattled owner of the Just Pups pet store chain crawls toward a resolution.

Defense lawyers and prosecutors met Wednesday for a two-minute "scheduling conference" in Paramus Municipal Court, where Judge Joseph L. Mecca Jr. decided that the two sides will meet again for a status conference on Oct. 12 at 1:30 p.m.

LoSacco, who is represented by Anthony Arturi of the Rochelle Park-based law firm Arturi D'Argenio Guaglardi & Meliti LLP, faces more than 400 summonses issued by the Paramus Board of Health for alleged violations at his now-closed pet store. LoSacco was not in court on Wednesday.

The charges came in the aftermath of the discovery of 67 puppies inside a customized van behind LoSacco's Paramus pet store in April. …
