Mourners Attend Funeral of Tragic Charity Fundraiser

FAMILY and friends of a popular charity volunteer who died after falling ill during a fundraising trek gathered to pay tribute to him at his funeral.

Farhad Zulfiqar, 27, passed away on Monday after catching pneumonia during the mountain climbing expedition in Morocco.

He was flown back to the UK and bravely clung on to life for a week, but sadly died at Manchester Royal Infirmary.

Law student Farhad, from Burnage, was on a gap year volunteering for the Manchester-based Syria Relief charity.

Despite falling ill shortly after the mountain trek began, Farhad is understood to have battled to continue, completing half the climb.

He was individual for a Farhad Zulfiqar's Zuliqar When he could not continue, he was treated by medics before being flown home.

Farhad suffered with the blood disorder, thalassemia.

He took part in a number of charity initiatives and was dedicated to helping people in war-torn Syria. …
