QWE HAVE quite a few creaking floorboards. My husband has tried screwing them down to the joists tightly, but that didn't work. The floorboards are in good condition. Any other suggestions? However, the joints can rub against each other when walked over giving a squeak. What you need to do is mix up 50/50 solution of PVA and water and pour this between the joint and leave for 24 hours - the solution will work itself into the joint and set, curing the creak.

QAFTER having a bathroom re-tiled, water is coming up behind the tiles on the wall where the seal is between the bath and the wall. How can this best be dealt with? AYOU need to solve this as the seal should prevent water going behind the bath. …
