Rescue Dogs Give Paws for Thought ; TWO YEARS ON FROM ARSON ATTACK AT ANIMAL CENTRE, READERS SHARE THEIR STORIES OF HAPPILY RE-HOMED PETS

YESTERDAY was the two-year anniversary of the arson attack at the Manchester Dogs' Home.
More than 58 dogs who were ready to be re-homed died during the blaze on September 11, 2014.
But, true to form, the kind people of Manchester and beyond stepped in to help and M.E.N. readers stumped up a staggering Pounds 1.4million in less than 24 hours to help with the rebuild.
Dozens of celebrities backed the campaign on social media, including Graham Norton and Ricky Gervais, and Simon Cowell even donated to the fund himself.
Dogs' home manager Steve Mapley said: "What M.E.N. readers did for us is amazing. The response was beyond everything that we could even ask for."
To celebrate what has been a spectacular recovery and change of fortune for the Manchester Dogs' Home, and to remember the dogs lost in the fire, here are some dogs that have been re-homed to mark Rescue Dog Appreciation Day. …
