* Bergen Catholic sophomore Rahmir Johnson provided the Crusaders' first kickoff return for a TD since James Dawson took one to the house against St. Peter's on Oct. 28, 2011 -- a 27-18 win. Johnson took the opening kickoff of the second half 91 yards for the score in the win over Tampa Catholic (Fla.).

* Butler backs Sean Centinaro and Will Verrico combined for 286 rushing yards and three TDs in the win over Glen Ridge. Verrico, a senior who transferred from Pompton Lakes in the spring, ran for 162 yards and three TDs on 13 carries. Centinaro, a sophomore, gained 124 yards on 25 carries.

* Fort Lee, off to a 2-0 start, hasn't won more than three games in a season since it went 5-5 in 2003.

* Cresskill junior DB Noah Kim's 87-yard interception return set up a third-quarter TD in the Cougars' win over Saddle Brook. Senior QB Jack Maltby completed 6 of 10 passes for 112 yards.

* Emerson ended a 14-game losing streak by beating Palisades Park/ Leonia. The Cavos' previous win was a 21-20 decision over Queen of Peace on Oct. 17, 2014.

* Hackensack senior DE Justin Boyce stood out in the loss to Ridgewood. He recorded 12 tackles and a half-sack. Senior LB Damarnie Clarke added 11 tackles and a sack.

* Hasbrouck Heights coach Nick Delcalzo spoke highly of sophomore WR Jasiah Purdie in the preseason. Purdie showed why in the Aviators' win over St. Mary. He caught TD passes of 15, 45 and 80 yards from senior QB Frank Quatrone.

* Northern Highlands' defense had a good showing in the win against Indian Hills. Senior LB John Miele led the way with eight tackles and a sack.

* Northern Highlands junior QB Charlie Ratner had a solid debut under center. He completed 9 of 13 passes for 178 yards and two touchdowns. He also set up a second-quarter score with a 32-yard completion to the 8-yard line. He spread his nine completions among seven receivers.

* NV/Demarest was the only NJSFC Patriot Blue Division team to earn a victory over the weekend. The other members - Ramapo, Dwight Morrow, Snyder and Tenafly -- came up on the short end. The Norsemen defeated Snyder.

* NV/Old Tappan senior LB James Kelly was key in the victory over Paramus. …
