Price is right

Red Sox ace left-hander David Price has won his last seven starts, the longest such streak of his career as he enters today's scheduled start against the Yankees. "It seems like he gets stronger as the year goes on. He did that last year, too," Yankees manager Joe Girardi said of Price, the reigning runner-up for the AL Cy Young Award.

Traded by Detroit to Toronto at the trade deadline in 2015, Price went 9-1 from that point with a 2.30 ERA in 11 starts for the AL East champs. "It's just a guy that seems to get stronger, the location gets better and we know we have our work cut out for us [today]," Girardi said.

Price took the loss in his last start against the Yankees, charged with three runs on 11 hits and one walk in 5 2/3 innings on July 17, a 3-1 victory by Masahiro Tanaka. …
