THE bookies may have slashed the odds on Jose Mourinho getting the United bullet - but the Reds are convinced he can be a long-term success at Old Trafford.

United have endured a threematch mini-crisis with defeats to City, Feyenoord and Watford wrecking the feel-good factor the Portuguese coach's arrival had injected into the club after the misery of the David Moyes and Louis van Gaal eras.

That trio of losses has fuelled fresh cynicism that Mourinho will blow up at United like he did during his second spell at Chelsea and leave early. But the Reds certainly won't be pushing him out.
