Susan DeLuca of Shadyside writes about deplorable Downtown conditions ("Conditions at Market Square Squelched Our Pittsburgh Pride," Sept. 12). Really! We are now in our seventh year of living Downtown and love it. And it just keeps getting better.

News flash: Condos are becoming less and less available, thus more and more expensive. Many who want more space are combining units thus reducing the supply.

As to smoking outside in Market Square, try and enter Downtown buildings with no-smoking zones. Office workers violate that constantly.

As to people hanging out in Market Square, I'm one of those. We and others in our condo building often take a picnic meal and eat there. We once brought a tablecloth and some candles. …
