SALFORD head coach Ian Watson insists his side are ready to fight for their Super League lives.

If the Red Devils fail to beat Batley Bulldogs tomorrow and assuming London Broncos win at home to Featherstone Rovers, Salford will be resigned to playing in the Championship next year.

However, win and their hopes are still alive and they will play in the Million Pound game - a winnertakes-all scenario against either Hull KR or Huddersfield Giants for a place in Super League next season.

After losing to London and Leigh in the middle eights, Watson knows the players have to be prepared to dig deep against Batley - a team that have little left to play for having failed to pick up a single point since the split.

"What we've got to realise is against Championship teams you have to do it tough, for the first 20 minutes at least, you've got to play tough and do it the right way and be professional," said Watson.

"So a professional start is important, making sure that come the end of the game we've done enough. …
