Police: Charleston Pair Kidnapped Man at Gunpoint

A Charleston pair kidnapped a man at gunpoint at a Putnam County convenience store, police said. Kasey Danielle Kincaid, 33, and Michael Gary Smith, 29, are each charged with robbery, assault during the commission of or attempt to commit a felony, and kidnapping, according to criminal complaints filed in Putnam County Magistrate Court.

Mark Shaffer told police that, at about 10 p.m. Wednesday, the two approached him at Sheetz, in Hurricane, and offered $100, drugs and oral sex for a ride to a Motel 6 in Cross Lanes. He said that after he refused, they held him at gunpoint, made him empty his wallet and give them $120 in cash, and threatened multiple times to kill him, according to the complaint.

Police said one or both of them said, "We are going to blow your brains out," and struck him in the head with the butt of the gun. …
