Indian Hills Cross-Country Trio Run to Glory

The Indian Hills boys cross-country team raced past the competition Saturday, as it showed all the speed and depth that's made it The Record's top-ranked team.

The Braves finished 1-2-3 and recorded the best team score during the Varsity B race at the Six Flags Wild Safari Invitational in Jackson.

Steven Fiumefreddo easily won the 5,000-meter race in 15 minutes, 52 seconds, and teammates Tom Holster (16:08) and Derek Barney (16:09) rounded out the top three. Fiumefreddo's time was the second fastest in the five boys varsity races, trailing only that of Briarcliff's Ryan Gallagher (15:47).

Strong performances by Chris Corcoran and Chris Leymeister helped the Braves occupy five of the top six spots in their event.

Jason Argueta of Cliffside Park and Joseph Zisa of Wayne Hills also earned spots in the top 10 in the Varsity B race. …
