Take a Fall Driving Tour of the Laurel Highlands

Foliage is not the only draw to a fall driving tour of the Laurel Highlands on Saturday.

The tour starts at Lick Hollow State Forest's Picnic Pavilion - just east of Uniontown on U.S. Route 40 - for coffee/doughnuts, a brief program and description of the tour's itinerary. Following the route in the accompanying booklet, participants will follow the National Road and Lincoln Highway Heritage Corridors, as well as the Laurel Highlands Scenic Byway, to visit two other state parks, a state forest, the village of Ohiopyle and other attractions, including, if they choose, recommended eateries. They'll end up in the Ligonier/Latrobe area at the Lincoln Highway Experience for a social that includes hearty appetizers and wine and beer.

Cost is $12 per person, which includes entrance fees to two historic sites, where docents will be waiting to show visitors around. …
