NORMAN - A forum on starting or strengthening a public school foundation is scheduled from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Oct. 18 at the Oklahoma Memorial Union, 900 Asp Ave., on the University of Oklahoma's Norman campus.

Registration and continental breakfast will begin at 8 a.m.

Connecting for Kids is the theme for the 26th Fall Forum for Local Education Foundations, which is presented by the Oklahoma Foundation for Excellence and its Local Education Foundation Outreach Program.

Fall Forum registration is $60 per person if received by Oct. 4 and $75 for late registration. Luncheon-only registration is $25. Session descriptions and registration forms are available online at www.ofe.org.

Oklahoma City University President Robert Henry will be the luncheon speaker. Other speakers will include Ken Busby, executive director and CEO of the Route 66 Alliance in Tulsa; Mary Melon, president and CEO of the Foundation for Oklahoma City Public Schools; Diana Hartley, a professor of practice in Nonprofit Management Studies at the University of Oklahoma; Dan Billingsley, vice president for external affairs for the Oklahoma Center for Nonprofits; Jenny Dakil, Norman Public School Foundation executive director; Brenda Wheelock, Oklahoma Foundation for Excellence communications director; Frank Merrick, Foundation Management president; and Randy Macon, Communities Foundation of Oklahoma director. …
