No practice for new TE

Austin Seferian-Jenkins, whom the Jets claimed off waivers on Monday, arrived after practice Wednesday. And coach Todd Bowles isn't sure if the tight end will be on the field Sunday.

"If he's not up to speed, he's not going to play," Bowles said.

Bowles said the Jets had been interested in Seferian-Jenkins in the summer.

"He became available by unforeseen circumstances," Bowles said. "So we figured we'd take a look at him."

Those unforeseen circumstances involved Seferian-Jenkins' second arrest on a DUI charge early Friday morning and the Bucs cutting him the same day.

Coaches also told Seferian-Jenkins to leave a Bucs practice during OTAs this summer because he was unprepared.

Does that concern Bowles?

"I don't have any reservations yet, because I haven't met him," Bowles said Wednesday afternoon. "Obviously with the situations that he's been in, he's going to sink or swim on his own. We brought in the player. He has the chance to clean his act up, and we'll see what happens. …
