A senior forward, Chan led the unbeaten Rams to the championship of the Walsh Division of the CYC/Bob Guelker Tournament and set a new school record for assists in a single season with 15. In a 3-0 win over Timberland in the championship game, Chan picked up an assist on a goal by Arthur Gibert in the 17th minute and gave the Rams some insurance by assisting on the second goal eight minutes into the second half. Chan helped the Rams advance to the championship by netting game-winning goals in wins over Alton Marquette and Triad.

Ryan Hess

A 6-foot-2, 210-pound senior running back, Hess carried the ball 20 times for 301 yards and four touchdowns in a 56-30 win over Freeburg that kept the Musketeers unbeaten at 5-0. He had TD runs of 63, 1, 78 and 41 yards and caught a 43-yard TD pass. It was the first 300-yard game of the season for Hess, who twice had eclipsed 200 yards on the ground earlier this season. Hess is among the area leaders in rushing yards (947) and touchdowns (17) and is averaging a first down (11.8 yards) every carry. Last season, Hess split time between slot receiver and running back and caught 16 passes for 330 yards and six TDs and rushed for 420 yards and three TDs.

Gabi Kohring

Webster Groves cross country

A junior, Kohring has won four of the five races she has competed in this season. In her most-recent race, she took first in the Hazelwood West Invitational with a personal-record time of 18:51 at Koch Park. Kohring also won Fleet Feet Cross Country Classic at Parkway Central (2 miles) in 11:52, the Webster Groves Invitational in 19:08, and the Affton Invitational at Wilmore Park in 19:10. She placed second in the Green Division of the Forest Park Festival (19:44). Kohring qualified for the state cross country meet last season.

Haylie Mathes

Seckman softball

A senior catcher, Mathes put on a huge power display at the one- day Seckman Tournament, blasting four home runs in three games to lead the Jaguars to the championship. In the title game against Festus, Mathes, who had just one home run coming into the tournament, went 4-for-5 with three home runs and six RBI. …
