"Frankenweenie," Tim Burton's parody of and homage to the 1931 horror film "Frankenstein," will be shown at 7:30 p.m. Saturday on the Statehouse grounds at the free Movie on the Lawn program. The 2012 black-and-white animated horror comedy is about what happens when young Victor conducts a science experiment to bring his beloved dog Sparky back to life. Concessions and pre-show activities will begin at 6:30 p.m. Patrons can bring blankets and lawn chairs for seating, but chairs must be on the sidewalk.

Whey Jennings got his start in country music as a young boy when he picked up a microphone his grandmother Jessi Colter left on stage and started singing one of his grandpa Waylon Jennings' songs, "Mamas Don't Let Your Babies Grow Up to Be Cowboys," at a concert. …
