Severino fined

Luis Severino got fined following his wayward aim Monday night in Toronto.

The 22-year-old right-hander said before the Yankees' 8-1 loss to Baltimore on Friday night at Yankee Stadium that the tab came to $2,500. He's appealing the fine.

Severino hit Josh Donaldson with a pitch in the first inning. In the second, Blue Jays starter J.A. Happ threw behind Chase Headley, then drilled him with the next pitch, and the benches emptied. Then Severino hit Justin Smoak in the bottom half of the inning. The benches emptied again. Severino appeared ready for a fight, especially when he saw Toronto's Kevin Pillar headed his way.

In the end, Severino was one of four to be ejected, all on the Yankees side.

"I knew something was going to happen, but I didn't think I was going to be suspended," Severino said. …
