CITY Women completed a domestic double with a 1-0 extra-time win over Birmingham City Ladies.

Playing on home turf in front of 4,214 fans - a record for the Academy Stadium - Nick Cushing's side were made to fight for their second Continental Cup triumph in three years.

England full-back Lucy Bronze made the decisive contribution as the game neared the end of the first period of extra time, looping a header beyond the stranded Birmingham goalkeeper Ann-Katrin Berger as Toni Duggan's corner caused problems in the box.
