INTER Milan director Piero Ausilio has hinted Matteo Darmian will move to the club from United next year.

Darmian has made just one appearance under Jose Mourinho and has invariably failed to make the matchday squads, with Antonio Valencia established as the firstchoice right-back and Timothy Fosu-Mensah his deputy.

Italy international Darmian has been linked with a host of Serie A clubs in recent months and when Ausilio was asked if Inter were close to signing Darmian, Juventus defender Stephan Lichtsteiner and Zenit Saint Petersburg's Domenico Criscito in the summer, he told Corriere dello Sport: "We evaluated some situations that were proposed to us, but then nothing came of them.

"The January transfer window is always a little odd, because there are only so many players available and we can only consider quality players who really will bring something extra to the team. …
