WVU Student Life Administrator Steps Down

West Virginia University's vice president of Student Life announced Tuesday that he is stepping down from his job at the start of next year. Bill Schafer, who has been at the school since March of 2015, will be pursuing "other strategic opportunities within higher education" starting Jan. 2, according to a news release from the school.

John Bolt, a WVU spokesman, wouldn't say whether Schafer was leaving WVU entirely, or just his current position.

"I have enjoyed my time at WVU immensely and believe we have developed a good foundation that will serve student life well in the future, Schafer said in the release. "While I will miss the students and the team, I look forward to the opportunities that I have before me. I am humbled to have had this opportunity to work with President [E. Gordon] Gee and learn from his decades of Presidential leadership. …
