Pryor to appeal fine

Calvin Pryor's first NFL penalty was a costly one. Pryor said he was fined $25,000 by the NFL for his Week 4 hit on Seahawks receiver Doug Baldwin -- an amount he believes is excessive.

"I don't know if it was a clean hit or not," Pryor said. "But I don't think it was worth $25,000."

Pryor was flagged for unnecessary roughness for hitting Baldwin high. It was the first penalty of his three-year career, according to NFL.com.

Pryor said he's appealing the fine.

The 24-year-old, who is set to earn about $1.2 million this season, said a tolerable amount for his fine would have been "zero."

"I'm thinking about my daughter, my family, and the [things] I could do with $25,000, man," Pryor said. "I'll see what they say and just keep playing football."

Pryor, who has a reputation as a big hitter, said he won't play differently because of the hefty fine. …
