Defending Beckham

Opponents have spent two seasons and four games trying to defend Odell Beckham Jr.

The Giants are now doing their share of defending Beckham, who's become the target of criticism due to his emotional behavior on and off the field, most recently a taunting penalty on the sideline during a 24-10 loss to the Vikings on Monday night.

Left guard Justin Pugh was adamant in his support of Beckham after Wednesday's practice.

"This is 11-on-11 football," Pugh said. "If he doesn't have a good game, maybe it's because we let up a pressure or something didn't happen the way it was supposed to happen.

"We've got to go out and do our jobs so he can be successful, too, and vice versa. ... If I was going out there and I was an All- Pro player, and I'm not playing at that level or if things aren't going the way I want 'em to, that's frustrating. …
