Corbyn Names Local MPs in His New Shadow Cabinet

A RAFT of Greater Manchester MPs have made Labour's frontbench following leader Jeremy Corbyn's re-shuffle.

Three have returned to the frontbench after quitting earlier this year as tensions rose in the party.

Worsley and Eccles South MP Barbara Keeley returns in a new role as shadow minister for mental health and social care, having quit in June.

Mrs Keeley said she was 'delighted' to return, insisting she was looking forward to 'lots of challenges.' .

Denton and Reddish MP Andrew Gwynne, who also quit in June, returns as shadow minister without portfolio. Stalybridge and Hyde MP Jonathan Reynolds is the new shadow economic secretary to the Treasury having quit in January.

Oldham West and Royton MP and former Oldham council chief Jim McMahon has been promoted to shadow minister for local government and devolution. …
