I read in the Post-Gazette that President Barack Obama commuted sentences of 102 more nonviolent offenders, mostly drug dealers who "only" dealt methamphetamine and cocaine, bringing the total to 774 that he has let go under the guise of criminal justice reform ("Obama Commutes 102," Oct. 7).

I suggest you visit the White House's own website and look at some of the crimes of some of these individuals, including several from our area. I would suggest many of them also sold heroin but got caught only with cocaine or meth. I don't think their conscience about the inappropriate "deadly" drugs would inhibit them from selling heroin or other deadly opiates if they could obtain them to sell. As a side note, it is a fact that heroin deaths only recently (2013) exceeded cocaine and meth overdoses. About 9,000 people still die annually from cocaine and meth overdoses. …
