UNITED trialist Idris Kanu has left the club and signed for Aldershot Town.

Kanu, 16, scored twice for United Under-18s in their 5-1 win over Middlesbrough last month but the former West Ham academy player has now joined the National League side.

"We're fortunate to have signed a very talented player," Shots manager Gary Waddock said: "We need to make sure that we help him realise his potential, but we are planning for the future."

Kanu seemed set to become the latest academy recruit after impressing at Carrington in the United youth side's victory but he made his professional debut for Aldershot in the weekend win over Solihull.

United's academy drive has escalated over the last year, with DJ Buffonge, Tahith Chong, Lee O'Connor, Nishan Burkart and Joshua Bohui all arriving. …
