Regarding Robert Fallon's letter about the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra musicians ("Musicians' Strike," Oct. 8): Pittsburgh Opera understands that people have strong feelings about the PSO musicians' strike. We hope the strike is resolved soon. However, we wanted to correct two inaccuracies in Mr. Fallon's letter.

First, ticket prices for our opera "La Traviata" start at just $12, and the average price is less than $80. We offer student and other discounts, and patrons can literally attend "La Traviata" for less than the cost of seeing a movie.

Second, Mr. Fallon says our opera "La Traviata" does not rival "the world-class caliber of the Pittsburgh Symphony." Pittsburgh Opera has assembled a world-class cast for this opera, including a Romanian baritone and an Italian conductor. …
