FOSSEN, Leo "Lee"

After a long and rewarding life, Lee Fossen passed away on September 27, 2016 at the age of 97. A hard-working farm boy from Bartley Nebraska, he moved to Chicago soon after high school and worked repairing small motors. In 1941, he joined the army. During WWII he was a staff sergeant at the 83rd General Hospital. After his service, he return to Chicago and married Louise, the mother of his five children. In 1955, he started his business, Lee Foss Electric. In 1969, he moved to Sarasota to retire. However, retirement was a foreign word to Lee.__ He soon established another shop here in Bradenton. Along with being a lifelong member of the Knights of Columbus, Lee was an avid golfer and bowler.__ If he wasn't golfing at Sarabay, he was bowling at Rips or Sarasota Lanes. …
