JIM Crowley is looking forward to taking a well-earned breather after all his hard work has been rewarded with victory in the Stobart Flat Jockeys Championship.

The 38-year-old admits to being mightily relieved that his tussle with last year's top dog Silvestre De Sousa has been settled in his favour and is finally over.

Crowley, who switched from the jumps in 2006, will be presented with his trophy at Ascot on British Champions' Day today after a season he will never forget.

"This is the first year I've tried to do it and it's just been absolute madness," Crowley said. "I've been riding at nine meetings a week and anything between seven and 14 races every day, so I'll be looking forward to it when it's all over. …
