Peters school board is having a demographics study done to help the district plan what impact future enrollment will have on school facilities.

The board Monday approved hiring Stewman Demographics LLC of Gibsonia to conduct the study at a cost not to exceed $15,000.

The study will examine population and economic factors affecting future student enrollment. The district has 4,300 students in its five schools.

Also at its Monday meeting, the board reauthorized the district to apply for state reimbursement to acquire the former Rolling Hills Country Club property along East McMurray Road.

The board approved that action in July but needed to approve it again because the 190-acre Rolling Hills property has since been acquired jointly by the township and school district through condemnation, or eminent domain. …
