SEPTEMBER EMPLOYMENT

Private-sector job creation rebounded in September from a more sluggish August, with Florida adding 18,800 jobs, according to an assessment by national human resources and payroll processing firm ADP.

That was up 24 percent from August and compared with 16,400 jobs added in July, ADP's data shows.

It was the best result since March, when the Sunshine State added 18,600 jobs.

The recent peak in Florida job gains came in December, with 23,800 positions.

Among other states, only Texas added more jobs last month than Florida, with 24,900.

Unlike the monthly jobs reports from the U.S. Labor Department, ADP's does not include government jobs added or lost. But it is considered a harbinger of the U.S. Department of Labor's hiring report, which is based on household and employer surveys. …
