Police Say Armed Robbery in Lewis Led to Fatal Marion Crash

Police and a dispatcher say an Ohio man allegedly stole an SUV at gunpoint from a woman in Weston in Lewis County Thursday afternoon and then was involved in a crash with that vehicle that killed a married couple later that afternoon in Whitehall in Marion County. Ryan Hubbs, 33, still was at United Healthcare Center in Harrison County when he was served with a warrant for armed robbery, according to a Marion County 911 dispatcher who said she didn't know the extent of his injuries. She said she didn't know the identities of the husband and wife, whom she said where declared dead at the scene of the crash between the allegedly stolen Honda CR-V and the couple's Chevrolet Malibu sedan.

She said the crash occurred around 2:30 p.m. at the intersection of W.Va. routes 73 (Middletown Road) and 250 (Whitehall Boulevard). …
