Love One Another Her Liver Donation Saved a Stranger's Life

Would you donate a month of your time and a portion of your own body to save a stranger's life? Amanda Crow did just that, and by doing so she has raised the spirits of anyone who comes to know the story.

As reported in the Post-Gazette on Thursday, Ms. Crow, a resident of Mercer County, was scrolling through her Facebook account one night and came upon a request from the Diekmann family of Warren, Ohio. The Diekmanns' infant daughter Ella had a rare disease and needed an organ donation to save her life.

When Ms. Crow realized that she was a match for Ella's blood type and therefore an eligible donor, she seized the opportunity to donate a portion of her liver. She did this despite the fact that she had never met the Diekmanns.
