Governor's Arts Awards Recipients Announced

OKLAHOMA CITY - Ann Lacy of Yukon and Josephine Freede of Oklahoma City will be presented the Governor's Award by the Oklahoma Arts Council.

Lacy and Freede are among 13 individuals and eight organizations that will be honored for their contributions to the arts in Oklahoma during the 41st annual Governor's Arts Awards. Award recipients were announced Tuesday by the Arts Council.

Gov. Mary Fallin will present the awards during a ceremony beginning at 4 p.m. Dec. 7 in the fourth-floor rotunda at the state Capitol. A reception will follow outside the Betty Price Gallery in the Capitol's first-floor rotunda. The event is free and open to the public.

The Business in the Arts Award honorees are Fowler Automotive in Norman and Park Avenue Thrift in Enid.

The Media in the Arts Award honorees are Susan Miller Cadot, Oklahoma City; Tina Pena, Tulsa; and World Literature Today, Norman. …
