BREAST CANCER

Making strides in fight

I joined the American Cancer Society Making Strides Against Breast Cancer event, a powerful, inspirational, noncompetitive walk held in our community to raise awareness and funds to end breast cancer. Dollars raised enable the society to invest in groundbreaking research; provide free, comprehensive information and support; and help people take steps to reduce their breast cancer risk or find it early when it's most treatable.

Making Strides Against Breast Cancer is so important to me because I was diagnosed with Stage three triple-negative breast cancer in 2015, at the age of 32. I was an active, healthy mother of two with no family history of breast cancer. Through the local American Cancer Society office, I was able to find out about many local services available to me as a cancer patient. …
