Disasters Can Remind Us to Take Stock of Our Own Lives

With the recent storms along the coast, those of us living in areas with milder weather probably can't begin to grasp the feelings of losing not just our loved ones and belongings but communities.

I'm sure many, like me, watch on TV the unfolding of these eventswith prayerful minds for the families and communities going throughthese horrific disasters. And we think about why something this horrible could happen in parts of the world where people have so little. It saddens me to see so much distress in our world.

Sometimes we take for granted all the positive things in our lives and get muddled under silly things. We broke a dish or can't find our keys or someone's driving too slowly in front of us.

We all think there are reasons to be frustrated, and these little things make us grumpy and unhappy - all stemming from silliness. …
