Band director sentenced in sex abuse case RAVENSWOOD A former Ravenswood High School band director has been sentenced to prison following a sex abuse case involving an underage student. WCHS-TV reported Nathaniel Martin Corathers was sentenced Friday in Jackson County for sending explicit text messages and having sexual contact with a 15-yearold girl. Corathers received 10 to 20 years for sexual abuse by a person in a position of trust, and two to 10 years for solicitation of a minor by a computer. Court records show deputies met last October with the students parents, who had become concerned over text messages sent between their daughter, who was a band member, and Corathers since the summer. Deputies interviewed the girl, who said she sent nude photos to Corathers and that the two had sexual contact. …
