United and City Stars Shortlisted for the Ballon d'Or Award

ZLATAN Ibrahimovic has made it on the short list for the prestigious 2016 Ballon d'Or award.

The United striker is among the 30 candidates revealed by France Football magazine.

He is joined by United teammate Paul Pogba and City duo Sergio Aguero and Kevin de Bruyne. Cristiano Ronaldo, Gareth Bale and Lionel Messi are also on the shortlist.

Ibrahimovic is largely being recognised for his 44 goals for Paris St Germain last season when he finished the campaign as Ligue 1 top scorer and also won the French Footballer of the Year award.

But his six goals since joining United in the summer after his contract in France expired has also been taken into account.

It comes at a time when Ibrahimovic's initial impact at Old Trafford has begun to wane and he is now at the centre of a debate as to whether manager Jose Mourinho should take him out of United's attack. …
